On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha the Consul General of Russia Mr. Andrey Fedorov expressed his greetings to the Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori and the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Vladimir Putin congratulated the Muslims of Russia on Eid al-Adha holiday.

The message reads, in part:

“Eid al-Adha marks the end of the Muslim pilgrimage to the ancient religious holy places. It serves to unite people and promote the ideals of mercy, justice and mutual understanding in society, and highlights the profound and enduring spiritual values of Islam.

It is gratifying that the life of the Muslim Ummah in our country is enriched with good deeds and undertakings, and new initiatives in the area of culture, education, and enlightenment. Muslim organisations pay much attention to strengthening the institution of the family and advancing the patriotic education of the rising generations. They provide active assistance to participants and veterans of the special military operation, to their families and friends. Furthermore, they make a significant contribution to promoting unity of our people and fostering inter-ethnic and inter-faith dialogue in Russia.”

On June 15 an award ceremony was organized at the Karachi Boat Club in honour of the women's rowing team that took second place in the 63rd Great Moscow Regatta.
The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Karachi Mr. Andrey Fedorov distributed the medals to Nehan Asad, Aaleen Hussain, Mariam Yousuf and Syeda Manahil Hussain. He congratulated them on the successful debut, presented a traditional Russian souvenir and listened to their impressions from the experience in Moscow.
Mr. Andrey Fedorov also thanked the executive committee of the Karachi Boat Club for the assistance in organizing the team's participation in this breakthrough event.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the senior officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

As is traditional, on Russia Day, the President presented the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation gold medals and the 2023 Russian Federation National Awards in science and technology, literature and the arts, and for outstanding achievements in human rights and charity work in the Grand Kremlin Palace’s St George Hall.

Following the ceremony, the President had brief conversation with winners of the National Awards and Heroes of Labour of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the 27th St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Other session participants included President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Luis Alberto Arce Catacora and President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

Sergei Karaganov, a political analyst, historian and Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the Higher School of Economics, moderated the discussion.

The St Petersburg International Economic Forum has been held annually since 1997. The event has become one of the world’s leading platforms for discussing key issues of the global economy.

The 2024 forum’s key theme is ‘The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World. More than 12,000 people are attending the forum, including shareholders and top managers of major corporations, recognised experts and analysts, political and public figures, and government officials.

Last weekend the 63rd Great Moscow Regatta concluded in the capital of Russia. This traditional international competition, which has a long history, brought together more than 1,300 participants who performed in several age categories. These are students, veterans, active athletes and amateurs.

The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Karachi Mr. Andrey Fedorov expressed his condolences in connection with the tragic death of Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and several other prominent government leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran and left a note in a condolence book at the Iranian Consulate in Karachi.

Vladimir Putin expressed his deepest condolences to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei over the death of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi.
